There is a lot that goes in to running a musical light show like this one; music mixing, installing lights, building fixtures, programming and sequencing, etc. If you are interested in having a light show on your home or business, or even just interested in a specific component, please don't hesitate to contact me. I would be happy to provide some advice, or make myself available for hire.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
The light show requires hundreds of hours of programming, many hours of music mixing, a week worth of installation. The show runs off of a standard Windows computer using special software to play the music and control every light. The music that can be heard on the radio station is simply coming from an FM Transmitter plugged into the computer that plays the show.
I made the giant star above the garage windows out of aluminum stock, and 145 individually controllable light modules, totaling 435 LEDs.
The "MegaTree", the "Megatron Star", the leaping arches, candy canes, singing trees, lawn edging, and the white star at the top of the tree were all custom built by me, specifically for this display... again, I'm for hire!!
The entire light display uses over 20,000 lights, thousands of feet of extension cord, hundreds of feed of network cable, and thousands of zip ties! Many people wonder how much power the display uses, or how much our utility bill increases. The truth is, since 100% of the lights in the entire display are LEDs, the increase in power is unnoticeable. LEDs consume such a small amount of power, our electrical bill doesn't fluctuate by more than maybe $20 for the entire month the show runs.
The lighting under the eaves, along the roof was also custom put together using 267 individually controllable 3 inch RGB LED modules, totaling 801 individual LEDs. This is one of the services that my licensed contractor and I provide. If you are interested in eave lighting on your property, please contact me. The nice thing is that they can be left up all year since you can't see the mess of the modules and cords from the street, but the glow of the lights on the house is amazing, and you can use them for any holiday or occasion; red/white/blue for 4th of July, favorite color for a birthday party, strobing white and orange on Halloween, etc.
